In Part 1 of our TTB Bootcamp series, Paul Laderman, TTB Formulas Specialist broke down the essentials of Certificate of Label Approval (COLA) requirements, when a formula is required, and how ingredient additions (fruit, botanicals, spices, etc.) can impact both approval timelines and compliance obligations. Nicole Candelora, TTB Assistant Director, Wine Labeling reviewed labeling requirements for ciders under 7% ABV and over 7% ABV and addressed common labeling pitfalls for cider.
